for my first rough i chose gill sans for the font because i like the way it looks for the cogs, the daily grind is an expression that my grandmother always says and thats what i think of when it comes to my weekly schedule.
for my second rough, i'm on the road a lot every weekend so that was the inspiration, i chose avant garde for the font, i just really like the way it looks.
Nice car! and nice simple composition, but there is something I really like about the Gear's pice. Also, love that you put your grandmama's saying into the pice, nice personal touch!

I think the simplicity of both of these designs looks great. The cogs look great and you illustrated “the daily grind” well. However, I do notice that my eyes do not follow the sequence of the cogs correctly, but this minor. You could create more excitement with some of the words inside the actual cogs. Both designs have nice use of negative space and I cannot decide which composition I prefer. I like how the letters float off the car as it speeds away. Visually I think that windows added to the car would be interesting. It could be a matter of simply creating bold letters to create the windows outlines. Detail to the tires could also be an interesting aspect. I think the first composition is great and needs little work. The second one could use either more contrast or detail.
