The weekend before last was a crazy one. It was basically a very anger-driven weekend and just about the entire time, I felt as though I should have been hitting someone and part of the time I felt as though I should have been hitting MYSELF. The boxing glove represents my attitude throughout the weekend.

I think this concept is great. Your illustration is great as well, I think there is a couple places in the boxing glove that the text fill needs to fill in gaps. I would think of adding some more detail to give the glove more three-dimensionality. You’re font choice is great. I think on the glove fill it could work without all the randomness. Just do straight lines of text without bolding and italicizing some words, it starts to take away from the strong bold outline of the glove. All and all your concept is great and your execution is on, just need to get a few little details worked out for the final presentation. Great work!
ReplyDeleteThe combination of the boxing glove and the aggressive language works perfectly together. I enjoyed reading it and actually laughed out loud a few times. I also think the reversal of the text when talking about the guy you met shows your feelings of regret or embarrassment in a convincing way.
ReplyDeleteI would suggest working a little on the shape of the glove. If you make the top part a bit larger and rounder, I think it could look more powerful. You could even play with the idea of adding some motion lines around it. I could also see your words (the interior text) curving down a bit to make the glove look more three-dimensional. Play with your text a little more and see what you can come up with (i.e. making the words “little dwarfs” really little or making the word “Hell” really bold or large.) Over all, you are heading in the right direction visually and verbally, betch.
