Hering Proj3 roughs

I chose to use thoughts and images that run through my mind on a daily basis. Beauty, trust and deadlines were most of the words I used. I was wondering if I should use the shorter type of mic so that I could make the whole image a bit bigger. Im stuck on the anchor on tv. 1. I think she should be sitting in a TV (not just floating around) and 2. She doesnt look real enough to me. I used the type Helvetica because I felt like I had more options with it. No one uses these kinds of microphones, but I had more fun making it.

I think the lady looks good. It looks to me like she is sitting down and the reason I get that impression is because that framing that you did. You typically see news anchors sitting and banners streaming across the bottom of the screen. I think you could probably get rid of the “Head news” in diagonal. I like the fact that you added the “LIVE” to the top left, referencing that it’s what your thinking about right now. I like the stock bar at the bottom. I would maybe tighten up her shirt and just make it a bit more symmetrical. Instead of head news maybe reference something to your thoughts that you have…like “Alejandra Live”. Also, I feel like there is so much going on in the composition. Not that that is a bad thing, but maybe it could use a little less in certain places. Maybe around the outside of the square. Overall, I was impressed by the composition!

This one is my favorite out of the two! I like the old-school microphone as opposed to what we see these days. It’s very classic. I’m wondering why you chose to use “Trust Me” to stand out the most? Are you telling people to trust you? Or are you talking about people from the outside wanting you to trust them? I think you could shorten the stem of the microphone a little bit so that you can make the image larger overall, but I like this style of microphone. Although I’m sure the shorter one would look nice too. I’m not sure if the shadow off the right side is needed. If you do decide to go with it, make it a little tighter together. I think it looks great though!

At first glance I really like this composition. I think the only thing you really need to work on is getting more contrast. I feel that “head news” is confusing the eye, so I would maybe drop that, but if you want something in that nature I agree with what Grams said and make it “Alex (or Alejandra) Live”. I also would think it would look cool if you either made your girl or background darker. Having them both in the same hue kind of dulls the image. The only stark black I see is “LIVE” and some in the face…maybe you could also have some stark black in some of the background words to make it look like the TV is going in and out ( you know when the TV gets scratchy like old school TVs)… like I said, I really like where you are going with this. It is a strong concept and I think it would look extra bad-a of you just added a little bit more black!

This comp is pretty cool. It reminds me of an old school radio station.. like the mics they used. Haha. But I really liked what you did with this. Even though the words that you like to use were beauty, trust, and deadlines it still stumped me… did you write “trust me” because you want to be a news anchor and you want people to know you have the credibility… or did you write “trust me” because you want people to have full trust in you whatever you do. I mean I guess either way it could work since that is the focal point. Since I really don’t have anything to say on this one I think this one has to be my favorite out of the two. I think it tells more of a story than your news anchor. I think it also has really nice contrast so it is pleasing to the eye.
